RECENT ADVANCES

1. SOFT LASER THERAPY

for treatment of sprains, strains, arthritis, tendonitis, whiplash, and nerve root irritations.

uses invisible infrared laser light at 810 nanometers and extremely low intensity, which stimulates tissue repair without generating heat.

laser therapy reduces inflammation by stopping the production of prostaglandin in the joint and relieves muscle knots called "trigger points" by resetting the muscle spindle "gain" control.

through a photochemical reaction called Photo-biostimulation soft laser therapy now provides all of the best features of many traditional therapies in one new treatment.

during treatment there is no noticeable sensation, but there is often immediate relief of tension in the muscles and inflammation in the joints.

Soft Laser Therapy

2. ELECTRO-LASER ACUPUNCTURE

for treatment of headaches, low back pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

uses the same invisible light as the soft laser therapy, combined with electrical pulses.

electro-laser acupuncture reduces pain by treating the acupuncture points, a process which restores the flow of "chi" or life-energy in the acupuncture meridians.

electro-laser acupuncture provides all the therapeutic benefits of needle acupuncture without the use of needles and their associated risk of infection.

during treatment you will feel a gentle "pick" sensation which feels much like a needle, but the only thing that passes through the skin is soft laser light and electrical pulses. There is often immediate relief of pain.

Acupuncture Points

3. ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE

for treatment of hypertonic muscles which are resistant to normal stretching techniques.

breaks up adhesions which have formed between the muscle and its surrounding fascia, which restrict the sliding of the muscle under the fascia as it elongates (as happens during normal movement). These adhesions have formed due to injury to the muscle which has caused either tearing or bruising. The small amount of bleeding associated with the tearing or bruising has turned into scar tissue "adhesions" between the muscle and its surrounding fascia.

during treatment you will feel a mild burning sensation, followed by an immediate increase in flexibility of the muscle. There is often immediate relief of pain as well.
